1st Penang Bridge and 2nd Penang Bridge

A strategic place whereby you can view the first and second Penang Bridge at the same time, same spot is at Equatorial Hotel Penang, Malaysia.

The first Penang Bridge opened to traffic in 1985. The second bridge should be completed by 2013.

This cosy Equatorial Hotel has some real good restaurants. So, have some good bites while enjoying the breathtaking view :)

Pappa Rich

Pappa Rich is on board, expanding its outlet to E-Gate, Penang


It's concept is quite identical to Old Town Coffee. I was too obsessed with its food and forgot to take down any photo on its dishes.


After his meal, this little boy is going to say :
" My papa is going to be rich pretty soon !) " or rather Pappa Rich is getting richer (:



For those who are thinking of opening your own chain, my suggestion is for you to use the name of "Pretty Mamma", and don't forget to pay me a small sum as a suggestion fees (:

Hard Rock Penang & Tarbush Penang

Ladies and gentlemen, 2 special entities are going to make Penang more wonderful :

1) Hard Rock Hotel, Penang (going to rock you pretty soon)



It's premise is currently in the final stage of renovation, previously it was Casuarina Hotel, sitting beside Bayview Beach Resort in Batu Ferringhi, Penang.



2) Restoran TARBUSH

Located just beside The Ship, Batu Ferringhi.

Laksa and Nutmeg at Balik Pulau, Penang

Apart from Durian, Balik Pulau is also famous for its Laksa and Nutmeg drinks.


Fresh white nutmeg juice selling at RM1.50

There are 2 shops selling the best laksa.

One of them situated at the T-junction in Balik Pulau town.

Another one is called Chuan Heong Cafe, indirect opposite of the corner shop.

Nice Nasi Briyani @ Penang

This outlet is situated at a shoplot opposite Queensbay Mall, but the shop is not facing the main road.

It's called Kapitan. There's another one at Chulia Street, Georgetown.

My advice : don't patronize when the sun is hot, otherwise it's like eating briyani inside a sauna room

Herbal Soups

Not many herbal soup outlet can be found in Penang, but there is one in Desaria, Sungai Ara (sharing the same row as Fishermen Grill)


I tried 3 types of soup :
1. Ginseng ++ soup
2. Cordyceps ++ soup (冬虫草)
3. Brazilian mushroom ++ soup

Out of these 3, i must say Cordyceps and Brazilian mushroom ++ soups are the best. My reminder is that pls don't go there alone, one clay pot of herbal soup is too much a portion for a person, pls bring your mum along.

Vintage Bulgaria

Must try dishes at Vintage Bulgaria : Platter Bulgari for 2

Subway --> eat fresh

We should visit this outlet more often than other traditional fast food chains like McD and KFC.

Subway serves a variety of sandwiches and salads

It even has party platters, from as low as RM50.

Santa must like it very much.

Subway turned Jared Fogel from a 193kg man into a 86kg handsome guy. Santa must surely loves it by now.

3 outlets in Penang for you to give Santa a treat : E-Gate, Gurney, and Autocity.

Going for Subway could be better than practising Yoga

This one also not bad. But it's not available in Penang.

Hong Kong restaurant

I have high expectation on the food at Kim Gary but it always turn out to be a big disappointment.

I am hoping for better quality Hong Kong restaurants to expand their network into Malaysia, to provide more competition to existing ones.


This one below is a real good outlet, but not in M'sia yet.

Just beside Ingolf's Kneipe in Tanjung Bungah, indirect opposite of Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel. (Tel # : 604-898 1890)


Visited by a "Prosperity God" in casual attire, who is without his formal costume in red which is quite similar to Santa's suit.

I guess this is a Bulgarian decorative

Clanberry drinks

A bar at the mezzanine floor, with a pretty female "Santa Claus". Let me tell you that there are at least half a dozen of them.

Broccoli + Cauliflower soup, coming with a BIG cup but only half full. It's a bit bit salty.

A Bulgarian 'grilled' platter. A bit bit salty as well.

Looks familiar to you ? Something that you see every morning ?

Not in the menu ..

Its wooden toilet door

The mezzanine floor for smoker and its basement for non-smoker. In fact, it's the romantic basement for lovers while mezzanine floor for lone ranger and power ranger.

You might even bump up with this artistic Dimitar Berbatov ..


or the temperament Hristo Stoichkov, as both of them should like Bulgarian food very much ...

Ah Keat Seafood

Ah Keat seafood at Bagan, Butterworth (Penang).


Australian Abalone, one piece RM30, one dozen should be less than RM360. To me, the shape of the abalone is explicitly interesting.


Geoduck, RM 118 per kg, suitable for those who wanna prosper everyday.

Alaskan Crab (translated as 'Spider Crab' in Chinese), RM228 per kg, good for those who wanna prosper easily.


Snow Crab, 100g selling at RM23, sounds like yee sang in Cantonese, might be nice for those who wanna have fairer and smoother skin.

High Fin Grouper, RM35 per 100g. Translated as Mouse Spot grouper in Chinese. Its enemy should be non other than the catfish. Tom and Jerry version in the water huhhh ...


This restaurant looks like a mini aquarium ...


but a proper aquarium don't show price tags.


Guess what, the Chief Minister of Penang also attracted by the varieties of seafood at Ah Keat restaurant. No wonder YAB Lim Guan Eng looks quite 'keat'. Maybe Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon should also dine in more often, to be more 'keat' in 5 years time.
