4,000 odds chemicals

Nowadays, these photos are visible around coffee shops, mamak stalls, convenient stores, etc. in Malaysia.

It's indeed a timely warning to our smokers.

There is also a message alerting them on the 4,000 odds chemicals which are impacting their health as a silent killer.

Calling all Malaysian youngsters ...

Calling all Malaysian especially those who age between 21 and 31 to register yourself as a voter at any post office nationwide.

It's time to fulfill one of your roles as a citizen of this beautiful country.

Your vote is vital in shaping a progressive path for this beloved nation (:

Pls share this message with your friends and relatives, brothers and sisters, honey and darling, also papa and mama.

Towards a great nation, viva Malaysia !!

If you love your parents ...

you need to buy a healthier cooking oil for their daily cooking consumption.

Olive oil is the best, but sunflower seed oil is also a good option.

Elizabeth Wong - troubled by her own nude photos

Elizabeth Wong is offering herself to step down as the state assembly lady (ADUN) for Bukit Lanjan and also as the state EXCO for Selangor Darul Ehsan.

It's all started with her nude photos believed to be taken without permission by her ex-boyfriend while she fall asleep in her bedroom.

She is the victim of this whole incident and yet she needs to pay a heavy price by trusting a guy she used to trust.

Question : What if there is another politician while taking a bath, get caught by a candid camera and his/her nudity were exposed in public.

Should the person resign just because of taking a bath ?

There are people trying to compare Dr Chua Soi Lek with Elizabeth Wong but I don't see any familiarity between these two instances. One is the main actor, while another one is the victim. One was awake, while another one was asleep.

Warren Buffet's New Year Letter ?

We begin this New Year with dampened enthusiasm and dented optimism.

Our happiness is diluted and our peace is threatened by the financial illness that has infected our families, organisations and nations.

Everyone is desperate to find a remedy that will cure their financial illness and help them recover their financial health.

They expect the financial experts to provide them with remedies, forgetting the fact that it is these experts who created this financial mess.

Every new year, I adopt a couple of old maxims as my beacons to guide my future. This self-prescribed therapy has ensured that with each passing year, I grow wiser and not older.

This year, I invite you to tap into the financial wisdom of our elders along with me, and become financially wiser.

Hard work: All hard work brings profit; but mere talk leads only to poverty.

Laziness: A sleeping lobster is carried away by the water current.

Earnings: Never depend on a single source of income.

Spending: If you buy things you don't need, you'll soon sell things you need.

Savings: Don't save what is left after spending; Spend what is left after saving.

Borrowings: The borrower becomes the lender's slave.

Accounting: It's no use carrying an umbrella, if your shoes are leaking.

Auditing: Beware of little expenses; a small leak can sink a large ship.

Risk-taking: Never test the depth of the river with both feet.

Investment: Don't put all your eggs in one basket. (and don't have a basket without any eggs : from sonofpenang :)

I'm certain that those who have already been practising these principles remain financially healthy.

I'm equally confident that those who resolve to start practising these principles will quickly regain their financial health.

Let us become wiser and lead a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful life.

大团圆

MY FM and Astro collaborate again to come up with a CD for the upcoming lunar year.

It's the most Bullish CNY production ...

and the most "Firely Hot" new year hit songs.

There are 10 songs inside the album.

I have listened to Song #1 and Song #5 and they have the ingredients to escalate your mood to the heaven .

I am still very much in love with Song #10 大团圆 as it's truly a classic from last year.

This CD album is sold at RM19.90 and it's original.

Let's go for original in support of local artists, and also to respect intellectual property plus ourselves for the coming Ox year !!

With the year of Ox, hopefully the economy can have a speedy recovery and may the bull re-energized the world again ..

Perhaps we can buy a Lois jeans to give more power and umphhh to the bull.

Play Safe

Lately I visited Watson quite often, bought 4 boxes of Durex in the process, 1 Extra Safe plus 3 Play Mix.

I gave out 2 as a X'mas present to a friend who seems to be an "ambassador" to our neighboring country up north. For the 3th box, it acted as my gift exchange media during a X'mas BBQ.

Out of curiosity, I bought the 4th box on Dec 25 to find out myself what the hell are inside this Play Mix.

After some careful examination in an empty room, I realize that it contains one dozen of rubbers : 2 Strawberry, 2 Ribbed, 2 Sensation, 2 Fetherlite, and 4 Durex Play.

Durex Play is in water based. Strawberry is in red. Fetherlite should be in gold color. But I am having difficulty in differentiating between Ribbed and Sensation as there is no single label outside the packets indicating which is which.

Its expiry date is 5 years from now, which is more lasting than our canned food .. no wonder it's called Durex (Durable in Expiring).

AIDS in Malaysia

Agence France-Presse - 11/30/2008 6:33 AM GMT

HIV/AIDS cases on the rise in Malaysia: report

Malaysia's HIV/AIDS infection rates are on the rise, dealing a blow to the country's bid to achieve the UN's Millennium Development Goal (MDG) to eradicate the virus, a UN official warned in reports Sunday.

Kamal Malhotra, the UN's resident coordinator in Malaysia told state news agency Bernama that up to June this year, 82,704 Malaysians have so far been infected with the virus since records began in 1986.

In 2006, eight percent of Malaysia's population were infected with HIV/AIDS compared to five percent in 2000, according to the United Nations Development Programme Malaysia website.

Malhotra told Bernama the country could face an epidemic if efforts were not focused on drug users, sex workers, transsexuals, male homosexuals and migrant workers.

He said one of the best methods to prevent this continuous spread was better education and understanding of the virus itself.

Malaysia has embarked on a five-year plan to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS, launching a pilot needle exchange programmes for drug addicts in 2006.

One of the solutions :

Empower Asia -- Raja Nazrin Shah

Raja Nazrin Shah cited five areas that could empower Asia.

“The first prerequisite of empowerment must be to strengthen the rule of law. The law has the capacity to unite and enfranchise the people of Asia like no other.

“The second source of empowerment is greater political participation. One of the essential tasks of Asia’s leaders is to convert residents into citizens and citizens into stakeholders.
“It is only when citizens are also stakeholders will there be the widest sense of ownership of problems and challenges. In order for Asian countries to weather this storm, governance systems must be broadly based and consultative to minimise non-cooperative behaviour.”
A third prerequisite for empowerment is that values and beliefs need to be changed and this is never a straightforward task.

A fourth source of empowerment is technology, particularly information and communication technology.

A fifth source of empowerment is education that breaks the chains of oppressive traditions and extremism.

“Education has paved the way for many to find their way out of poverty and for countries to sharpen their competitive edge,” Raja Nazrin added.

Unfortunately, he said that good quality education was still a dream for many.

Penang Bridge

Wanna know how clean is the water around Penang Bridge ?

Just look at this picture, which tells thousand words.

Btw, do you know how's the water flow based on the picture above, from right to left, or left to right ?

A river in Batu Maung, Penang

It's a river in Batu Maung, partial of it is parallel to the runway of Penang International Airport.

The color of the water is like Kopi-O Kao (thick black coffee), really terrifying !! Imagine if the water flown into the sea, and our fishes think it's really kopi-o kao from Small Town Cafe, then fishermen catch these fishes, then the dishes on our dining table could have extra ingredient, i.e. Kopi-O Kao fillet.

The water is flowing right at the back of people's backyard.

Not sure whether our beef is also filled with coffee aroma ??
