Toyota Vellfire vs Toyota Alphard: Difference Between The Two Models In Thailand

In the past, there was only the Toyota Alphard available. After the first-generation Alphard, however, the model split into two different model names: the Alphard and Vellfire.

Despite their different model names, most of their features are pretty similar. It may be challenging for many car buyers in Thailand to pick the right model that suit their lifestyles and needs.

Both the Toyota Vellfire and the Toyota Alphard are the epitome of luxury multi-purpose vehicles (MPV) in Thailand. So what exactly is the difference between the Toyota Vellfire and Toyota Alphard in Thailand?

1. Price

The Toyota Vellfire is less expensive than the Toyota Alphard.

The standard price of a 2.5 Toyota Vellfire is 3,838,000 Baht, while the Toyota Alphard can cost up to 5,509,000 Baht.

The main feature that causes the price difference between the Toyota Alphard and Toyota Vellfire in Thailand is its vehicle transmission. The 3.5 VIP Toyota Alphard has 8 speeds with direct shift, while the 2.5 HV Alphard has E-CVT. On the other hand, the 2.5 Vellfire has a CVT with sequential shift.

Also, the Vellfire is only available up to the second generation, while the Alphard is already on its third generation.

Yet, both cars have all the other same important features.

Spacious and luxurious interior: The interior contains full leather captain & ottoman seats, capacitive touch air-con control, 16 colour ambient illumination, 8-speaker acoustic environment, seat heater and air-conditioning, fully digital rear-view mirror, and twin moon roof.

Greater 360 protection: There is greater safety due to the 7 SRS airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), vehicle stability control (VSC), front and rear sensors, and blind sport monitors (BSM).

Outstanding convenience: Life is made easier with the one-motion power sliding doors, smart entry and start system, electronic parking brake, brake hold function, new 2.5L engine with Start/Stop technology, CVT transmission.

2. Sleeker and Sportier Design

The Toyota Alphard is marketed as having an elegant and sophisticated design, while the Vellfire emphasises strength and a strong individuality.

Distinct horizontal grille: The Toyota Vellfire has a front horizontal grilled design that is sleeker compared to the Toyota Alphard.

Tail lights with transparent finishes: The Toyota Vellfire comes with a fully transparent tail light finish, compared to the Alphard’s red finish.

Colours: The exterior sportier colours available for the Toyota Vellfire in Thailand include White Pearl CS (070), Steel Blonde Metallic (4X1), Black (202), and Burning Black CS GF (222).

Black interior: Spills and stains will not show up on the Vellfire’s full black leather upholstered seats, so the car can always maintain its distinct sporty look.

Length: Parking and turning in tight corners is much easier as the Toyota Vellfire’s length is 10mm slimmer than the Toyota Alphard.

Toyota Vellfire: For the Sporty Individuals

With its distinct horizontal grille, transparent tail lights, strong colours, and sleek length, all at a cheaper price, the car truly lives up to its name Vellfire, which originates from the words "velvet" and "fire", emphasising the car's passionate and smooth personality.

Where Should We Put The Fire Extinguisher ?

IMG_6868 (1).jpg

Is kitchen an ideal spot to place the fire extinguisher (alat pemadam api) ?

Kitchen might not be the right place or the only place.

Imagine there's a fire broke out from the kitchen and you can’t grab the fire extinguisher from the kitchen itself if it's placed there. Therefore, it tells the fact that a house should have more than 1 fire extinguisher.

One of them can be placed at a convenient spot to cover both the kitchen and living room. At the same time, another unit kept in the master bedroom.

Type of property and number of fire extinguishers needed for a house, as a suggestion :

A) If you stay in a flat, apartment or condominium

- You should have at least 2 fire extinguishers

- One placed inside the kitchen, one placed inside the master bedroom

- At least a smoke detector installed in the kitchen, with connectivity to a smart phone.

B) If you stay in a single storey landed property

- You should have at least 2 extinguishers

- One placed inside the kitchen, one placed inside the master bedroom

- Get a third unit to be stationed in the living room if possible, as a backup

- At least 2 smoke detectors needed, one at the kitchen, one at the living room, with connectivity to a smart phone.

C) If you stay in a double storey landed property

- You should have at least 3 extinguishers

- Ground floor : One placed inside the kitchen, one placed at the living room

- First floor : Third unit placed inside the master bedroom

- At least 3 smoke detectors needed, one at the kitchen, one at the living room, one at the walk way on the first floor

Fire Extinguishers Are Needed In Every Home In Malaysia

Fire extinguishers are necessity for all houses, whether in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kangar or Sabah.

2 units is the basic minimum to cover a house. The 2kg fire extinguisher can be placed at the living room or master bedroom, while a 1kg unit can be put inside the kitchen.

If you already have fire extinguishers, great !! Then all you need to do is to check their expiry dates. They should not be more than 5 years without servicing.

Make sure the needle is always pointed to the GREEN zone in the gauge. It's to ensure that the air pressure is at its optimum, else the whole unit won't be functioning when there's an emergency.
