In Malaysia, people tend to donate to government registered old folks home and orphanage, and claim for tax relief. These 2 entities are the favorite among Malaysian public.
Apart from these 2 entities, there are still other parties that need our helps. E.g. patients who need money for treatment and surgery, students who need educational assistance, single parents who need support to feed their children, etc.
I am not against the idea of giving donation to the old folks home and orphanage, but we should instead diversify our resources so that each parties can share the benefits accordingly, in a fairer manner.
So next time before you channel your monetary help, pls think twice and choose wisely.
