3 by-elections on Apr 7

Lately, we are seeing drama after drama in the political scene of Malaysia.
In the latest development, 3 by-elections are coming up next Tue.


My own prediction for the outcome :
1) Bukit Selambau --> Barisan Nasional
2) Bukit Gantang --> Pakatan Rakyat
3) Batang Ai --> Pakatan Rakyat

I will make a final assessment by this Sunday, but I still believe that BN will win at least one of the battles.

Water and Gas at Bukit Selambau, Kedah

Tear gas and water cannon were used to disperse the crowd attending an Anwar Ibrahim ceramah at Bukit Selambau, Kedah.

This one looks like fireworks during Chinese new year celebration.

This one is quite similar to the water festival in Thailand.

Kenny Sia - Blue or Red ??

I am a BIG fan of Kenny Sia.

I admire him for his outstanding blogging talent.


To me, Kenny is a Chelsea fan and I am fine with that even though I am a Liverpool supporter.
Premier League is more exciting with the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal around.




But I was shocked when I saw him wearing a Man Utd jersey at Old Trafford last weekend.

Feeling a need to make an expression, I left a comment on his blog, and it sounds like this :





If Kenny managed to read my message , I hope that he will make a firm decision, choosing either Chelsea or Man Utd, and stick to it for life.


Jumping around like a frog earns little respect from the ground.




I still respect him for who he is, in making people's life more colorful thru blogging, in conveying eye-opening community message to the cyber space, in doing charity for the needies, and many others.


However, when come to footballing matters, he's still not up to the mark yet.

New Zealand Natural @ KLCC

Wall's, Magnolia, Swensen, Baskin Robbins, and Haagen Dazs are common ice cream brands to Malaysian.

There is another brand called New Zealand Natural which can only be found in selected places in Malaysia.

It offers distinctive texture and special ice creaming experiences, a must try during your next visit to KL.

One of its outlet in KLCC whereby you can have multiple tasting, but of course the portion is not as BIG as above.

I also realise that there are two other unique ice cream brands called Turkey Hill and Turtle Mountain, not sure whether they have landed in Malaysia ..

Perhaps we Malaysian can create our own brand called Tiger Valley, baking in tongkat ali and buah petai as one of the main ingredients. Whether or not it sells is another matter ... (:

Ipoh Tauge Chicken (怡保芽菜鸡)

I dropped by Ipoh on my way back from KL, and took a dinper at Restoran Lou Wong Tauge Ayam Kuetiau.

Btw, dinper = dinner + supper (my own creation :)

Just like Brunch = Breakfast + Lunch

This was the order for 3 persons :




and I took 2 bowls of this "Hor Fun"

In comparison, Tauge Chicken Ayam (芽菜鸡) at Restoran Onn Kee besides Lou Wong is far better than Lou Wong.

I tried Onn Kee a few years back and still miss its fatty juicy Tauge (bean sprout) and its tender chicken.

While taking my dinper, I noticed that there is another outlet selling Salted Chicken at the other side of Lou Wong.

It strucked my mind momentarily that Ipoh is really full of chicken and ayam.

Shirts at REEF

This outlet sells good quality cotton shirts, which can form a nice encounter with your body skin.

However, the shirts over there are a bit pricy, the 30% price tag below is only for certain selected outdated items. I was initially delighted but then deeply dejected ...

I don't think so !!

This season, Liverpool is effortless in beating BIG teams, but helpless in overcoming small tiny clubs.

Avoid Jakarta at this point of time

Kira-kira 10 juta penduduk bandar raya Jakarta diingatkan lebih berwaspada terhadap kemungkinan berlaku gempa bumi besar berukuran sehingga 8.5 pada skala Richter dan menyebabkan tsunami.

Pusat Penanganan Krisis (PPK) Kementerian Kesihatan Indonesia, ketika memberikan peringatan itu berkata, Jakarta termasuk dalam garis gempa yang terbentang dari Sinabang hingga ke Pelabuhan Ratu, lapor Bernama.

Ketua PPK Rustam S Pakaya yang dipetik akhbar Republika hari ini berkata potensi gempa itu berlaku ekoran daripada pergerakan kerak bumi di bawah laut yang berpusat di Kepulauan Mentawai, Sumatera Barat."

Terjadi hakisan terus-menerus di bawah permukaan laut," katanya.

Beliau bagaimanapun mengakui bahawa tiada pihak dapat menentukan secara tepat tarikh dan waktu bila gempa bumi besar itu akan terjadi.

Berdasarkan hasil pemantauan yang diperoleh PPK, berlaku hakisan diPelabuhan Ratu setinggi 2,050 meter dan 600-700 meter di Pangandaran di bawah permukaan laut.

"Kita harus waspada jika benturan (berlaku perlanggaran) di antara lempeng bumi di bawah permukaan laut ini terjadi. Walaupun tidak dapat dikira waktu tepatnya, pasti akan terjadi gempa," Rustam dipetik berkata.

Menurut agensi berita itu lagi, Rustam menambah walaupun perkiraan saintifik bahawa gempa terjadi di Padang, Sumatera Barat pada 23 Disember 2007 tidak berlaku tetapi penduduk Jakarta, khasnya, harus waspada terhadap perkiraan gempa akibat pergerakan kerak bumi yang sedang terjadi ketika ini.

Sehubungan itu, menurut pegawai itu, laluan selamat menuju ke pusat pemindahan akan dimaklumkan segera secara meluas kepada seluruh penduduk Jakarta.

Is it in Kyoto or in Penang ?

You might think that this is a Sakura Festival in Japan without the background buildings, but in fact these photos are taken here in Penang.

Sakura is the Japanese name for cherry trees. I am not sure whether these trees below are cherry trees, but they're blossoming in this small island.

The location is aound Bayan Baru area of Hotel Seri Malaysia, Sunway Tunas, and PISA.

Please take this opportunity to have a look yourself these few days, and remember to bring along your camera, and with your loved one if possible.

Be fast as flowers also have expiry date.

I think the state government of Penang should plant more of these trees along the major roads around Penang, and turn it into a flowering island in the next 5-10 years, attracting tourists around the globe.

Breakfast at Burger King

I think NOT many Penangites had the experience of having Burger King as their breakfast.

I ordered a breakfast set and it's just like an ordinary meal from any other fastfood chain. I blog it here simply because I am now among the few Penangites who have tasted Burger King breakfast meal.

Btw, just wanna tell you that its fried potato is way too salty, close to the level of a salted fish.

The next UMNO Youth Chief

The contest for the post of UMNO Youth chief is intense.

It's between Khairy Jamaluddin (son-in-law of current PM), Mukhriz Mahathir (son of former PM), and Khir Toyo (forgotten son of Selangor).

To me, the winner will be emerged between Khairy and Khir.

But I think Khir will ultimately fill the seat in order for him to unseat PKR in Selangor.

Laksa and Nutmeg at Balik Pulau, Penang

Apart from Durian, Balik Pulau is also famous for its Laksa and Nutmeg drinks.

There are 2 shops selling the best laksa.

One of them situated at the T-junction in Balik Pulau town.

Another one is called Chuan Heong Cafe, indirect opposite of the corner shop.

6th Prime Minister of Malaysia, who would be his deputy ?

Dato Seri Najib would be the 6th Prime Minister of Malaysia by end of March 2009.


There are 3 person contesting to be his number 2, but who will be the winner ?
My take is Dato Seri Mohd Ali Rustam (the person on the right in the photo below).

Why ?

Simply because Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is perceived to be too ambitious,
Tan Sri Muhammad Muhamad Taib is closely linked to Pak Lah,
and Ali Rustam fits the bill as he could be an obeying No. 2, just like Tun Gaffar Baba to Dr Mahathir.

Coincidentally, both Ali Rustam and Gaffar Baba are from Melaka.
